Authors, Writers, Publishers, and Book Readers

I can tell you as one of FW Publishing's authors, they are always looking to help aspiring authors.  There are few conventional houses that do this, which is why FW Publishing is, in a manner of speaking, dedicated to writers who have a story to tell.  As one of FW Publishing's authors, I was very fortunate to have their coaching and guidance as some very talented writers were.  I was given the opportunity to be heard on radio talk shows and to make my books known.

As F. Scott Fitzgerald once wrote:  "You don't write because you want to say something.  You write because you've got something to say."  I happen to believe it is the publisher's editor who has the responsibility to make the writer put on the pages of his/her work the essence of the story, be it a fiction or nonfiction work.

In fiction, a writer's characters must have "meat on the bones" and be dimensional as though the characters were living persons.  How else will readers fall in love with the characters, or hate the evil ones?  Both the antagonist and protagonist must be real.  One of the extraordinary realities of my story "Whore of Madness" is that the publisher helped me to keep the reader in serious doubt as to whether my main character, a Soviet KGB killer, was a "good" character or not.

Yes, they publish -- however, they don't publish every draft that is mailed to them because their name is on the spine and on the title page.  To tell you the truth, they want you to be equally proud of your book, and working closely with an author, guiding and reinforcing them in the proper things to do which is the only way a publisher serves an author.

Thanks to FW Publishing and to all the people who have read it, my characters are real ... my characters make the reader want to love--or hate--them ... and, thanks to my publisher, I take the reader through a whirlwind of locales in my thriller making sure that my readers experiences the story.  Why else does a reader read a book?

So, FW Publishing coaches -- usually a 3-6 month excursion that, as many of their authors have said, "teaches authors how to write."  They're looking for passion -- the passion that brings forth a believable story; the passion that brings to life the writer's characters; and the passion to believe in your ability.  Writing is a gift and it is nurtured by this publisher as the God-given Gift it is...

Write fwpublishing@earthlink.net -- I'm sure they'd love to hear from you...
