Or if they haven’t, it sure looks like it! Is it just me or has the quality of CNN news segments gone down recently from an editorial point of view? I have noticed several typos appearing in their site’s reports in the past few months.

Yahoo! News has been guilty of it too. What’s going on? You used to be able to count on the media sites to be absolutely perfect. The mistakes are distracting to the story. Do they just not care anymore about professionalism or are they letting the interns run amok? Either way, it's not acceptable.

Really? Next thing you know we'll have to be checking dictionaries for spelling mistakes! WHAT HAS THE LITERARY WORLD COME TO! It's an insult to serious authors everywhere.
Scribbler: I noticed the same about CNN. It is my favorite News Channel. Someone is not editing or the editor needs an editor. Maybe they have started 'texting' instead.
Ha! Perhaps that's it, Trudy. I don't know what's caused the sudden drop in standards there either and had noticed it too. It could be cost cutting measures where experienced editors have been replaced with less experienced (as in cheaper) ones. If so, it's costing them more in the damage to their reputation than it's saving them in dollars and cents I'd say.

I grew up watching the BBC, the epitome of professional journalism. Maybe I expect too much because of that. Whatever the reason, I think it's appalling that CNN has allowed that to continue unrestrained. I've went back to news stories and found them untouched days later, the errors still there for all to see. It doesn't reflect well on them at all.
