Authors, Writers, Publishers, and Book Readers

do you have any good ideas to make Authors.com a better website?

i think that Authors.com is a great place, but not everything is perfected. lets brain storm for great ideas and who knows maybe they will make the changes and Authors.com will be an easier site then it its right now.

i idea that will help a lot that i have is, about the chatroom. its really hard to use. because theres never anyone in the chatroom. and when there are others on the site at the same time, theres really no way to get their attention to go to the chatroom. i think that when you go to the chatroom, and there are the people online at the side, youshould be able to click one nd then it will send a ring noise to the other person telling them to come to the chatroom. that will help a lot.

another thing should be something like a riddle of the day, where there will be a riddle on the main page and then you can guess it, if you guess right then you get five author points, the more author points the more cooler your home page is and other stuff.

that's all i got really, i think their pretty good, please feel free to put up any idea for Authors.com that would help it. thanks for your time

Halim, you didn't need to make a thread for this because there is already an official thread that's  2 pages long for feedback and suggestions regarding Authors.com. The chatroom has already been discussed there. In answer to what you asked about,  I can tell you that anytime a message is posted in the chatroom, it makes an audible sound. The others will hear it (unless they have turned off that option or don't have speakers.) But if you don't post, they don't know you're actually in there rather than browsing the site.

The easiest way to let people know you're in chat is to make a post on the forum to say you are if anyone feels like talking or send them a PM when you see them online at the same time as you. Bear in mind not everyone likes to chat and would want to so you can't tell them to come to chat. You can however ask them nicely.

If you read that thread you'll see I made suggestions already regarding the chat. Add your ideas in future to that thread instead please. The admin will address it and it lets other members add comments too on ideas, while keeping all in one place. That's the official thread for any suggestions and feedback. We really don't need two of them overlapping because it will be confusing. This is the link.
