Google's Author Markup Support makes It easier to find a writer's works

Google just revealed it's supporting authorship markup HTML tags. This may seem like a small tweak, but it's seriously good stuff if you're a writer wanting to find your work online--and it could even help protect an article's IP. And that's all good for readers too.

Google's simply going to start crawling the trillions of pages on the web to look for existing HTML5 "standards" like the tag rel="author" with the simple and express purpose of enabling "search engines and other web services to identify works by the same author across the web." It's the start of an experiment for Google that's designed to make it easier for Google's customers to locate "content from great authors in our search results."

I've used Cluster(Search Engine) and the three in one hotbot.com(search Engine) besides google.

If we don't know how to connect with the 'new' google facility for searching how can we find out more? Is there a website link?

For anybody not tech savvy, talk to whoever takes care of the backend of your site or blog about doing the HTML markup side. All you'll need to do is set yourself up a Google Profile if you don't already have one and leave the rest to your web wizard person. :)

Here's another that has two videos from Google's Matt Cutts that explains it more. What the tag does is tell everyone that you are the genuine author of that piece by connecting it to your Google Profile. One cool plus is that your photo can show up next to your link in the Google search results.
