1.) What do you look for when you read a book or a story?

Something that holds my interest.

2.) When writing, how do you avoid writer's block?

Get fresh air and put whatever it is away for a while, both mentally and physically.

3.) How do you determine your chatacters?

N/A as I don't write novels.

4.) What genre(s) are you into? (Fantasy, Fiction, Historical etc...)

I like variety but thrillers are my favorite.

5.) Do you like a lot of detail? Only if it is relevant to the story. I don't like reading a deeply descriptive passage about how a house or room looks for example.

6.) How long do you like your book/stories? No preference. Quality beats quantity.

7.) When writing, How long does it normally take you to complete a story? (Before you edit and all that shinaneginns.) n/a as I don't write novels.

8.) Is a lot of detail important to you when writing and reading?

Didn't I just answer that? :) Not if it gets boring. I think you need to leave room for the readers to use their imagination and not detail every little thing.

9.) How important is writing to you?

Only as important as breathing. ;)

10.) What are your views on Fantasy? Not a favorite genre of mine although it can be well done. I just don't like having to fathom entire worlds.

1.) What do you look for when you read a book or a story?

Unique story lines and interesting characters. I avoid any book that feels like a  "cut and paste" of previous best-sellers.

2.) When writing, how do you avoid writer's block?

I usually switch focus from writing to relaxing. If I take a break from the story sometimes It'll just come.

3.) How do you determine your chatacters?

I would like to anwser this one with another question. How do you determine what qualities you like about people you have met? I base my characters on those qualities or character flaws.

4.) What genre(s) are you into? (Fantasy, Fiction, Historical etc...)

I am into almost everything with the exception of romance.

5.) Do you like a lot of detail?

yes. Unless it gives a book the feeling of having a "filler". In my opinion, there is nothing worse than having a five hundred page book with only one hundred pages of actual storyline.

6.) How long do you like your book/stories?

For the type of stories I write I like to keep them under two hundred pages. However, If I like how its turning out; then I will continue to write regardless of page or word count.

7.) When writing, How long does it normally take you to complete a story? (Before you edit and all that shinaneginns.)

It depends on how into I am. My first book in the Zorza series only took me two months. I typed over and over for many hours a day. I am at that same marker, but only halfway done with book 2

8.) Is a lot of detail important to you when writing and reading?

I would say im impartial. I have read alot of books that were amazing that didn't have a whole lot of detail.

9.) How important is writing to you?

Very important. It rates right under family and friends.

10.) What are your views on Fantasy?

Not a big fan...It takes alot for my mind to try to decipher the jargon used in the more extreme fantasy books.

Thank You guys! This has really really helped me ! I really appreciate it.

1.) What do you look for when you read a book or a story?

Good character development and a take on the setting that hasn't been done to death. Characters are the most important part in my opinion.

2.) When writing, how do you avoid writer's block?

I don't, I'm afraid.

3.) How do you determine your chatacters?

I decide what I want, and I go from there. A major rule of mine is that my characters must have something alien or unusual about them. Zetsuei for example is a dromite, a bug-like race. She's 3'11, which is really damn tall. Kimberly is albinistic, Lasunala is completely insane and has a ton of verbal tics.

4.) What genre(s) are you into? (Fantasy, Fiction, Historical etc...)

 Fantasy, political.

5.) Do you like a lot of detail?

Yup. But too much backstory (looking at you, Tolkien!) bogs it straight down.

6.) How long do you like your book/stories?

About 400-500 pages works well.

7.) When writing, How long does it normally take you to complete a story? (Before you edit and all that shinaneginns.)

Too damn long, I never finish what I write, which sucks.

8.) Is a lot of detail important to you when writing and reading?

Very, If a book has little detail, I throw it aside and take my opinion of the author to the internet.

9.) How important is writing to you?

Very. Lets me do what I want by my rules.

10.) What are your views on Fantasy?

Best genre overall next to sci-fi. Especially dark fantasy.

Haha thanks! I really enjoyed reading this! Its helped for sure!
