To start writing you mean, halim? I write because I enjoy doing it. Simple as that, and when the day comes that I stop enjoying it, I'll quit. :) Good question! What about you?

I've always loved writing and making new ideas, and becoming a author was the best way to put all of my creativity in one piece.

Being an Author/Illistator is my only goal in life.

Its as simple as that.

I will feel utterly complete once i am at my very first book signing and am meeting my fans face to face.

;)

I would be nothing but a carcass without my writing.

Chance, but I am glad I found the site.

Seems like a great place to me.

The decision was not mine. I was flooded with poetry that had to come out. Then I wanted to make money, so I started a novel and now I write all the time. So when you don't hear from me, I am writing. And as others have said, I love to write.

Seems like here are two potential parts to this question...

I write because it is fun. I love reading and now I love writing too.

I wasn't encouraged to write earlier in my life, as my handwriting leaves a lot to be desired, practically another language that the reader must be able to decipher, but now my computer keyboard skills out-speed my hand writing and life has opened up a new and exciting avenue to me. The stories I write about at the moment are fantasty adventure stories for children, fun, exciting and, I hope charming with underlying positive messages.

How about you Halim?

I've enjoyed creative writing since I was small and never really wanted to do much of anything else in life, although I did work in other jobs while I was writing too.

Sean, my handwriting is downright awful now because I use a keyboard so much! Not that it was perfect to start with but it's went downhill for sure.

Betty and Rebecca, do you girls have links to your artwork? I'd love to see it. :) I like messing around with graphics programs. I used to sketch when I was younger and wouldn't even attempt it now.

I came in here by accident, actually then I decided to sign up. I've been anti-social lately and thought it would be a good idea to be around people who will make me put up and shut up. ahah! you know that ol' thing about writer's procrastination.

Betty - same here! What kind of art do you do?

Yeah, my handwriting is pratically  a chicken clawing on the page with ink dipped claws. its really print that looks like cursive. My thoughts come fast so my writing doesas well, i soppose. lol

im sorry, all the drawings i have are here in my home, within My 3rd Book. ;)

I dont know how to put it online...and im not sure if i want to....??? lol

Simple- my best friend! When I was in third grade, I met my best friend and she got me into reading, and then we started making up characters in our stories so we could pretend we were in the book. Finally, we began to make up stories of our own! She got me into writing, and now no one can get me out! I don't care how much it costs, but I'll write until the day I die, just like her! Funny how when I was young I hated books, and now I write them! Just goes to show how much imagination can build!
Hi Callie, I'm the same way when I was younger, I never read but now I can'r read enough and writing, writing is wonderful. I hate when I can't write. This morning I planned to write, but I had to put a battery in my wife's car so my writing day was gone. That with Football.

i know what u mean, i started out just being a reader. focusing my future into being a librarian or somethig of that nature.

It was when a cocky friend of mine was boasting that shes gonna start a book. imlike...i could do that...

so we made a bet. 5 bucks to  whoever could finish a book by the end of the year, every once in a while she would say

" im on page 10"

"im on page 25'

"Im alomost done, page 120.."

yadayada

lol i thought she was telling the truth so im writing like crazy to compete with her.

lol Eventually she told me, that she lied, that it was too hard and she never even started. lol

by then i was on page 400 something and already planning my book series.

hha, that was back in 6th grade. and to this day, Im still writing the same book series. lol On book 3 Page 1016 at the moment.

lol gonna rewrite my 1st soon before starting on my 4th.

I was stubborn and eager to win, I apprechiate her  Selfish Being. lol i still see her to this day, she doesnt know that im still writing, and it HEaVILY shocked her when i told her lately. lol greatest reaction ever. lol
