Authors, Writers, Publishers, and Book Readers

Do you have a person that inspires you and/or your work? Not necessarily another writer. It could be family or friends. In my case I have my husband cheering me on in the background. He's always been my biggest supporter and I love him so much for that! His encouragement always makes me feel like I could do anything. :)

I have an inspiration as well. My best friend in Texas. We used to sit in my tree in my back yard, but since you read, "Age is but a number" you know that story. I now live 14 hours away from her and I guess that writing stories is the only way I can stay close to her. Whenever I'm around her I feel more confident by knowing that I'll always hae someone who will never judge me. I love her like a sister and we hope to write a book together one day.
I know it doesn't neccessarily have to be a writer, but in my case it is. I love J.K. Rowling's writing and how she makes her stories un-put-down-able. It inspires me how she kept trying and trying to make Harry Potter a hit. Did you know Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone got rejected 12 times before it got published? I want to be that kind of writer.
My inspiration isn't a writer, well... one of them is, but my biggest inspiration comes from my Music. I don't listen to that crap stuff about drugs and having lots of sex, that kind of music makes me sick. I listen to music with lyrics, with meaning, with heart, with passion. I admit that I have a few songs just because they're heavy metal and get me in a good mood, but the majority of the stuff I listen to mean something to me.
I did! She spent five years creating the whole of Harry Potter's new found world instead of just slapping down on paper the first thing she thought of. She deserved her success. On another "did you know?" note, the book was called Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone in the UK to avoid confusion with another book.

One line in a song can get me started on a train of thought, so I know what you mean Andrew. Is there any artist you favor listening to for that purpose?

The Philosiphers stone? Really? That's incredible. I had no idea.

I don't think I'd be able to pick just one Artist that inspires me, but if I had to pick one, I'd probably pick either Dream Theater or Flyleaf; my two favourite bands at the moment. Both of them have some pretty amazing songs with some pretty amazing lyrics.

I would agree with Andrew.
Music is my best inspiration.
And J.K. Rowling is indeed an amazing writer.
I love to listen to music. I'm discovering new songs every day. Have you heard the song, "Fireflies?" I don't even know what it is. I just heard one line of it and I already love the song.

That's what it's called in real-life alchemy. Well, we know alchemy doesn't exist, but that's what it's called in the real world, the Philosopher's Stone.

Hey kids.
I agree that music is a very useful source of inspiration to us writing types. My favorites are way too eclectic to enumerate in the venue.
I just read The Vampire's Girlfriend and would like to be of editorial assistance. There are some proofing issues that need to be addressed and I would be happy to help.

Best,
M.
Do you like a particular kind of music when you're writing Rowen or does it not matter?
