Simple enough, write up a monster. This one is inspired from a post in a creepythread on an imageboard I sometimes go to.

Viandier

A hag-type abomination that resides in the kitchen or dining room of people's homes. They enter the kitchen and lie in wait for a moment when the parent is not present. When they are not present, they call out to the children, telling them that there is food on the table. Children who answer the call are violently killed and eaten by the hag. They are often ousted when the parent is not in the kitchen, but still in the house. Most SEDL members can easily kill a Viandier but the best way to avoid one is to simply ignore it, as it will not leave the kitchen. Unfortunately Hags do not marry.

There have been reports of Viandier killing women in the kitchen while food is being prepared, making them fairly effective hunters.

I bet you don't feel like going to eat now.

Esetaria

Mostly targets underage, still emotionally unstable children, occaisonally adults. The esetaria will target one person and find their weakest point. They have been known to hide in cabnets and under sinks, and if neccesary drawers and behind larger objects. Then he will find the people you are closest to and make them disappear, making the victim feel alone and uncared for. It is precisely this miserable hopeless feeling the esetaria feeds off of. Little by little he will make things better, simply so you won't destroy yourself in anguish, killing off his current food source. Esetarias can only target one person at a time as it takes much following to find a person's weak spots. When the esetaria feels you are of no more use, he will return your family and friends and move on to the next victim.
To get rid of an esetaria, you must first decide it is following you, then find it's hiding spot. This is usually somewhere you never look, and it will have a large black area on it where the esetaria lies in wait. To get rid of an esetaria you must find it's hiding place, then look it straight into it's blood red, anguish-filled eyes and smile happily. This is the same effect that- excuse my reference, I couldn't resist- a patronus has on a dementor.

The only other known way to destroy an esetaria for good is to catch it while it's flying around searching for a new victim. If you hold it for very long, all of the sadness it has collected will bleed into the air and substance around it. For the next few days you will be burdened with problems that do not concern you, but this goes away after no less than three days.

Have you ever felt like you're being watched?

I can see this thing being very good friends with my hag.

So THAT's why the kids never come to the dinner table on time when I call them! It all makes perfect sense.

Loved it, Aries. :)

Nice job, Callie. :) Now I'm wondering what you catch it with. A net made of bluebird feathers perhaps? With them being a symbol of happiness, you see...

Haha, now that I think about it, the esetaria's do need a more convenient way to dispose of their victims, giving them back their happiness is just all too tiring for them...

Why thank you :) You have to catch it with your hands, because another soul is the only thing that is permiable enough to absorb all of the anguish locked inside of it. Depressing, I know, but you only have to deal with it for a few days! And you get to live with the knowledge you saved hundreds of people from temporary depression! :D
