Children's Books

I am interested in writing children's books set in a  small town in Jamaica. I have a toddler who I read to frequently and, I have not encountered many such children's books.

As a child and even into adulthood my dad told my brother and I stories of his childhood growing up in a small rural town in Jamaica. He'll be ninety this year and, I would love to share some of these stories. We would pile into the car on weekends and take family trips all across the island. I learned so much from these trips.

I wanted some feedback from the community on this idea as  I have never written any type of book before.
