(A Villanelle by Larry A. Cochran)
I remember the love was strong
As we learned each others heart
The rhythms of our love song
Of times our stays prolong
When ever we were apart
Our love was felt still strong
Might never our ways be wrong
No matter a wayward start
Each season the days prolong
But times have changed the song
Nameless reasons grown apart
A profound burden carries along
No more enfolding like sarong
No more knowledge of the heart
In sadness is where I now belong
