Water
Roars down the mountians
Always to the sea
The mother of creation
Flows wild and free
Rises to the heavens
Floats upon a breeze
Falls as a gift of life
Soaks the grass and trees
When the need is pressing
Comes to save the day
Sometimes with great violence
Washes all away

Keith, I just looked at the thread you're talking about. They are accepting submissions even though that particular deadline is long gone. This is their current themes. Always look at the website's submission guidelines there for the most up to date information and how to do so.
http://barrierislandsreview.com/html/submissions.html
Barrier Islands Review accepts themed submissions in addition to regular submissions. The themes are as follows:
Issue 7: Tropic & Meridian Deadline: March 15
Issue 8: The King Deadline: April 15th
Issue 9: Myths, Legends, & Folk Tales Deadline: May 15th
POETRY Barrier Islands Review is also looking for well-written poetry. As with fiction, we're not looking for sentimentality, but well placed emotion doesn't hurt. Poetry may be on any subject and in any format, but special attention will be paid to traditional and invented forms. However, content should never be sacrificed for form. Submit up to six poems for consideration, up to 100 lines each.
I wouldn't worry about it, Keith, easy mistake to make. And a nice poem btw. "Falls as a gift of life"... I love that. :) New calls for poetry submissions pop up all the time all over the net! I'll go look over the next few days and see what I can find to add here. I've been meaning to do that anyway. :)
