My boyfriend is a trucker, and it gets kind of hard being without him for these long periods when he's on the road. I got to missing him really bad tonight, so I made this poem to help express some of that built up emotion that kinda felt like it was choking me... Anyway, this poem goes out to anyone who has a lover who's job takes them away for long stretches of time. I know your pain.

When I think of you

My heart

My whole body aches

When I miss you

My entire being

Longs for your embrase

I can feel your soul

As your body wanders

Your heart’s here

Safe in my hands

While mine is forever yours

Cursed are we

Lovers torn apart

Out of monitary needs

I wait here always

Impationt but steady

For my lover on the road

To be safe in my arms once more
