THE LOST TALE
In the time before years,
days full of laughter -
chasing butterflies and dragonflies;
quick tears dried with sounds of life.
The evenings for father to come home from work
to greet him as he comes in -
to jump into his arms
felt the reassurance of love, and of life.
The nights sitting by the hearth with grandpa
on bamboo stools, boiling tea kettle on the fire,
sipping from a big cup of tea.
With elbow resting on loving knees
enchanted with fairies and leprechauns-
eyes gazing with wonder
ears delighting with the twist and turns,
mind grappling with the feats.
The tale is lost now,
The time is past!
The sight of them never to behold again,
The voice faded long ago into memory-
to feel the passing pain of life!
To relive those moments
the moments eternalized in memory.
To find a way back to life:
a way back to the lost tales,
under the strain of life
where painful thoughts became treasured memories!Tags:
