I like to write stories for children around seven to nine..my younger nieces, nephews and grandchildren like when I add a little facial expressions to the stories. I also like to write adult mysteries.
Yes Stacy, it was a worldwin experience for my son, all 8 yrs in the Navy. But with the new rules of no promotion-no job, he of course didn't get the promotion. With 2000 taking the same test for 144 jobs...well luck wasn't with him. He was always on the West coast, we're from the east coast so it was difficult but we went to visit him every summer or would fly out for special occasions. Now that he's home he's having a horrible time adjusting, especially since with this economy he's been unemployed since Jan. 2011. Long story short, he got into the Reserves, and we sent him to a shrink. Lately, it doesn't give me impetus to finish my 2nd novel, and I'm on the last chapter which is going horribly slow for me. He needs a boot in the posterior (he's 29 and thankfully single!) and I need big hug and be told it'll all work out, now finish your book! Easier said than done, eh? Motherhood, why aren't they born with directions?!
No, he's not interested in getting married; when they get too serious he panics, which I have to laugh over. He just turned 29. He's addicted to several bad things, is now going to a shrink. It was either you go to a shrink -NOW- or find someplace else to live, He got the msg. thought something else was brewing but he called tonight from Tampa where he's doing his 2 1/2 wks of annual duty in the Navy Reserves. I thought he was draining his bank account on "booze and broads" as they call it, but he promised he's fine. If he's lying, momma can slip into her son's Navy steel toed boots and kick his butt to the moon! Gee, and I thought when he came home with his first tattoo that I'd kick 'em, but that was nothing compared to what's been happening lately. So sad that he has the name "sucker" acrossed his forehead. He seems to gravitate towards people that will take advantage of him. Sad!
Glad to have you as a friend. You might find my Web site of interest and my Critique Blog as well (you can access the blog through my site). Every-other-Tuesday I publish a free Newsletter that focuses on writing prose at a level that would appeal to a major royalty publisher or quality indie (the next edition is the 20th of this month). If you're interested you can sign up for the Newsletter by scrolling to the bottom of any page on my Web site at theperfectwrite.com and filling out the simple two-step form. Again, it's free, and presently sent to writers in 31 countries. I apologize for the shameless plug, but I'm quite tied up with clients' work and don't have the time I wish I could devote to excellent sites such as authors.com, and at least the Newsletter and blog provide some access both ways.
Again, thanks for desiring me as a friend, and welcome to Authors.com.
