Post-partum depression

Does anyone else suffer that feeling of bereavement when the work is all done and the book(s) have left your safe clutches and gone off to make their own way in the world? I love the preparation for publication: proof-checking, cover choosing and detail sorting, but there's such an empty space left when the 'children' leave home and seem to have nothing to do with you any more. The obvious remedy is to create another one, but that's easier said than done . . .an army of designated naggers…

Glory hallelujah, lift a glass/teacup/slice of cake and celebrate that the new edition of Peace on Earth is back in print as of this very morning - the e-book came out last month. It's very slightly different from the first version, but only in minor detail. I've been using my limited resources on getting all three of the current books in the series newly or once again before the paying public, so haven't had much thought for blogging, I'm afraid. This is just to say hello and I'm more or less still alive, but partly from ill health, partly from particularly intense stress and partly because I'm still waiting for a piece of news, I've been incommunicado. Has anyone else with long-term health problems had kind friends asking if you're now able to spend all that free time writing, when actually getting a cup of tea is a bit of a struggle? I write sci-fi fantasy novels filled with adventure, mystery, romance, drama, horror, and plenty of comedy… It's sci-fi for every adult human to enjoy. I'm also a well-known published poet.
