Best ways to go about book Publicity

I am retrying my hand at writing since I put it down due to short sales on my last two novels. The only problem was that I did not publicize as well as I should have. Does anyone have any advice?

There are many different goals that we set for our lives. Whether it is to become a house hold name, have your name up in lights, or just to be a good wife and mother. This book is very important to me.

I have been working hard on it for a little over a year and it is going to be the first of my new start when it comes to getting my work published. I am currently looking for an agent that does not want my arms, legs, and first born child just to help me out and hopefully they will find me a publisher that will be this story justice. I worked hard on it so I should expect nothing but the best for it...dont you think?
