Authors, Writers, Publishers, and Book Readers
I am always hesitant when it comes to posting any of my writing for public display. A number of hours was spent on it for somebody to steal it.

Zane,... the central character, has been given a USB drive from a mysterious, cloaked figure on a bridge in the middle of the…

I am delighted to announce that my new novel, Yvonne, Lady of Cassio, Volume One, The Lovages of Cassio, set in the reign of Edward II will be published on Tuesday, 9th April.
This novel has been a long labour of love and very hard work. I wrote the first version nearly ten years ago and sent it for feedback to The Romantic Novelists’ Association’s…

Another set of student essays. This time, on Integrity:
Stella –
I think integrity is practicing you hardest and doing the moves the correct way. It is about not fighting with or being mean to my brother even if mommy and daddy are not watching.
It is also about doing what the teacher says, like standing quietly in line when the teacher is helping someone else.
Helping others when you say you are going to help is also a way to show integrity.
I…

“The roads were uneven and bumpy, so we could not read the local guide book during the bus ride to the resort. Because of this, we were unaware of many things that would have made our holiday more fun.”
Okay, I just don't know what to say about this.
Anyway, I wanted to relate this to how reading has always been one of my enjoyments. I think one of the best jobs I could have would be one where I did nothing but read books. Maybe for review (which I do for free…

While we women authors often include at least a touch of romance in our novels, it doesn’t mean women understand romance better than men or even that we’re better at "working" it. Perhaps—and this is just my opinion—women simply have more fun with romance than men do.
Let’s suppose for a moment that the love of fun is the reason women authors rule the fiction…

"True friendship is like sound health; the value of it is seldom known until it be lost."
- Charles Caleb Colton
I often think of the friends I've made throughout the years. Those in high school, some of whom I see either annually or every five years. Those in college, most of those I've never seen since graduation. Those in the workplace, through my association in the American Taekwondo Association, through…

“We went on holiday to Spain and had a problem with the taxi drivers as they were all Spanish.”
Uh-huh. Really? Well, before I get into my main topic, may I dip a toe into the social/political arena? Some people wonder why Americans won't easily accommodate Spanish speaking people when the majority of Americans speak English. The above quote shows the absurdity of some people but makes a point – if we're to speak Spanish to accommodate Spanish speaking people, then…

Yesterday was the last day of Black History Month. It is a time to celebrate the accomplishments of our black brothers and sisters.
Do you know why we have a Black History Month?
It is because one group of humanity deemed itself above all others and made those other groups fell less than human.
I grew up in a town on Long Island, NY in the 60's. There was only one Black family, which was unusual for L.I. My friends will…

My favorite fiction to curl up with has usually been a mix or urban fantasy and paranormal romance. Yet now after bingeing on the genre for a while, I find myself diversifying.
Yes, I grew bored with the standard tropes associated with, let’s call it “paranormal fantasy.” You know the tropes I’m…
