Alright, I guess that this time I may have gone too far – but maybe not. And anyway, no matter what I say here, those “rule benders” who’ve been sanctioned to say whatever they darn well please will continue to say and write whatever they darn well please. But who gave the “rule benders” a free hand to do, say, and write whatever…

One of the cool things about blogs is to ask a question at the end to entice comments. Well, I want to ask one at the beginning.
What are you reading right now?
Okay, don't be literal and say, “Dude, I'm reading your blog.”
I mean your reading list of books.
Are you like me and have several going at once?
Currently, I am reading:
- A book I'm recording for a friend. I read a chapter or two when I get the chance. I use Audacity to make the…

This week, I finish up the essays my students submitted regarding Attitude. I've enjoyed reading and sharing them. March's theme has been Courtesy and I look forward to reading the essays regarding that subject.
ELIJAH
My paper is on attitude. Attitudes can be good and some can be bad. If you look it up in the dictionary, you will find that attitude means “ a feeling or disposition regarding one’s…

Religious conservatives seem convinced that morality, justice, law, order, and just about anything else you might think of as a social good come directly from god. Without religion, they would say, the world would quickly descend into chaos and evil. These religionists seem to believe that the solution to all the world’s problems is religion and more religion. If this is true, maybe it would be a good idea introduce more religion into our government as many religionists recommend. After all,…

This week, I present more of my taekwondo students' thoughts on Attitude. Some are too young to write, so they have assistance from mom and dad to help them discuss the topic and to put words to paper.
Reece
Negative:
- You have trouble seeing good things
- You don't have fun
- Nobody wants to be around you
- You will have bad things happened because you will not be able to see any good things
Positive:
- You see…

I've been wrestling with the poor sales topic on my blog for five years now. I do mean, primarily, small press and brand name independents. I've been in total denial and shock…

I swear and, as God is my witness, I had a terrible prejudice against anyone who wrote a series, or planned to write one before their first book was even picked up. I laughed at anyone who wrote a complete series and had no agent to push it. Back in the day, series books weren't as popular as they are now. Today, it's almost a given that large independents and big publishers like/love to sell a series. Two-book, trilogies and large series packages are more…

Just thought I would mention that my SF book, Planet Janitor, has been given new content, revised and re-covered. I'm very happy about the new face lift, and my publishers' dedication and love for this title. It's on Pre-order now at Amazon:
PRE-ORDER PLANET JANITOR…

My name is David Weller and I write fiction for YA and Upper MG readers.
My first completed novel is kept safely under lock and key to avoid tarnishing my reputation. My second, Truthseeker, was written for readers at the younger end of the YA scale. It is complete at 75K and I'm trying to find it a home. The full MS is currently under consideration by an agent in London. My third novel, Secret of Heathcote Manor, is aimed at an Upper MG readership and the first draft is well…

Indian paintings have a very long folklore and antiquity in Indian art. The first Indian paintings that came into being and were widely known were rock paintings of antediluvian eras. Moreover, with the passage of time art has certainly transformed to a great extent.
Whether we look at cave art, Ajanta and Ellora murals and the miniature chefs-d'oeuvre of Mughal, Rajput and hill schools of traditional Indian art, India art has…

I've written about attitude before, but February's theme was attitude and I thought I'd share some of my students' thoughts on attitude. (Actually, for testing, each student is required to write at least a one page essay on the theme of the month.)
Abigail
To me, attitude means the feeling with which a person does tings, and it is these feelings that affect every aspect of not only the person's actions, but everything around them as well.
First is…

It was another super-duper Tuesday, and of course both the writer’s friends and enemies had previously demanded his “take” on where the political situation in America was “at” just now. So, to answer them, he’d begun by penning a nonsense paragraph which had used all the candidate’s last names in jest. But after he’d read what he’d written, although he’d…
