So, I'm sitting around the apartment this afternoon and I receive a phone call (which I'm lucky I saw the phone screen light up, because the main speaker is broken) and it's this week's featured author wondering where I am, that I've missed the interview.
After profusely apologizing, I jump in the transporter and…

In writing my novel Simply Lace, I am learning to enjoy the journey. Resistance is futile. The hardest and most enjoyable decision I have ever made.

Now, to introduce myself.
I am the author of three sweet Regency novels, Monday’s Child (to be published in spring 2016), Sunday’s Child and False Pretences, and three novels set in Queen Anne Stuart’s reign, 1702-1714, Tangled Love, Far Beyond Rubies and The Captain and The Countess.

My first book was picked up last year and I had to agree to a few minor 'tweaks." My editor did a lot of critiquing but never in a constructive way. She made me change both of my main characters' personalities because she didn't like them. And when I told her I no longer recognized the story as my own she told me she only liked the concept and to have it in print I had to completely reconstruct the manuscript.
I did contact a few authors before pulling out from the deal because this…

“I love the sense of camaraderie when an entire line of cars team up to prevent a jerk from cutting in at the front. Stay strong, brothers and sisters!”
I wish I could see this done more often.
I didn't need too much time to figure out how this relates to writing. Teamwork. Specifically, support groups in the form of: writers' critique groups, the Posse, and author groups.
Critique…

Every time I kick I fall down, push I fall down
Excuse me but skating was something I never learned
But as the world turns I embrace it
With bruises across the face
And inerasable cuts, scrapes and burns
In turn, I give the world my all
Kick flip my flaws
By far
The harder they are
The bigger the fall
The stiffer they guard
The quicker they are
To fall short and get back up and do trick with the…

This week, I don't pick up my featured author, he gives me directions. I start out by transporting to Paris. Then I have to act as if I know how to effect a French accent to tell the cabbie an address (although I could be telling him I'd like to date his sister for all I know) - “sank roo doe noo”.
Fortunately, he doesn't drag me out of the vehicle and pummel me. Instead, in a few minutes I find…

The year is 3010, the human race divided; the new breed living inside the World Administration dome network and outside the older breed. A pandemic, broken out throughout the dome network by a corrosion in the citizens' wrist chips, is causing the planet to die. Whether the outbreak was accidental or intentional, either way the reptilian race stood to gain from such an…

I don’t know. There is a probability of me being mistaken in this opinion article but I will say what I think about being wrong; People have to learn to admit when they do not know even though human beings love to know.
Human beings love to know, our senses grasp our environment to learn it and discover. Our minds consistently attempt to close patterns and fit puzzles. At the age of only 2 even my nephew is pointing at everything and posing questions.
“Unco Mike, what’s…

Poetry is one of those literary genres that instill a fear in students, particularly in the middle school arena. Metaphor, sonnet, acrostic, haiku, rhyme, prose, or free verse are examples of hundreds of poetry terms and forms. Confusing for a young impressionable mind to absorb, poetry is often a subject to avoid, and if unavoidable, often solicits a desire to cheat to succeed. Throughout the internet, are sites where students ask questions soliciting someone to…

“They should not allow topless sunbathing on the beach. It was very distracting for my husband who just to relax.”
I'll just bet it was.

I used to work nights and had, for the most part, since 1999. So many times my 'days off' were nights. Many times, though my body realized it was 11pm and I was not at work so it told me to go to bed.
I enjoyed my time off but…

I am new to authors.com, but not new to writing. Yesterday I wrote the final word in my fifth novel--Robbie's Rare Gem. Now onto editing, and revising to get this novel ready to send in to Harlequin.
Wish my luck, fellow authors.

So your friends all have e-readers—either a Kindle, Nook, tablet, iPad, what have you—but you can’t imagine reading without the feel of a hard cover or dog-eared paperback in your hands. Let me tell you. Before I published Curse Me Not as an e-book last year, I would have been right there with you.
Thing is . . . and I mean this in the nicest possible…
