Around the Globe with Bob Dunbar

It's a beautiful Firday morning and I don't even have to take my transporter to meet this week's guest. I can drive to our interview. It's only an hour away in Iowa's capital Des Moines. Downtown on Fourth there is a snazzy little coffee shop called Java Joe's. I've been there many times. They have rick showing through the masonry, a scuffed stage peformers do their…

Is Anybody There?

About a writer's time and writer's following, there was a similar blog recently on another writer site, SHE WRITES. Also this is NaNoWriMo - for November 2012. I jumped in and I am very behind in my word number/stats department. Too, I have a blog here, but I have not blogged in weeks. No excuses...... am just not there. One thing about the promotions and the readership, another recent tip came up that makes sense. I am following half dozen writer sites if not more, so can't remember the…

About to publish!

Matthew Butler's next adventure; Butler's Island will be available for fans to read on our website on the evening of November 14th.

We're very excited to publish and don't want any  more delays, but we don't know when our cover will be ready.  After spending hours on the internet, unsuccessfully looking for a stock image that would be suitable, we have hired artist Paul Strahm to paint it for us.

As soon as the cover is ready, it will be available from all the usual sources;…

Contentment--Updated--11-7-12

As I walk down a dusty winding road, the sounds of water beating against rocks enthrall my curiosity.

Not only do I perceive water flowing, moisture is in the air.  Suddenly, stumbling over a pile of entangled

driftwood, a jagged piece of wood scrapes my leg; fortunately, the skins intact.  The babbling brook cutting

through the backwoods in Alabama leads me to a weather-beaten road sign, "Underwood Road."…

The receptionist suggested- --- she

Me and the G-Man

I have known Giovanni Gelati for quite some time. He's interviewed me more than once on The G-Zone BlogTalkRadio Show. We've written together (A Prince in Trenton, Seriously?). Our latest collaboration is The Defective Amish Detective - Volume 1 - The Whoopie Pie Affair. It is a humorous story, that one might call a cozy mystery. Both of us had the goal of telling a fun story, while holding the Amish with utmost respect. With the "defects" of our main character,…

Don't Write The Story

In a recent taekwondo class I was instructing the students in the single bahng mahng ee form. For those of you who can't read Korean, that is the single stick. The form is lengthy and complex. I've told my students many times (and I apologize to the creator of this form) that I think the single stick is boring. Or rather, I have seen too many times boring forms performed by competitors at tournaments. I…

My third book

I am finding by writing this book there is a character that keeps moving into the lead. I know he will be gone in the beginning about 8 chapters and others will take his place.

What I want to know have you changed your main characters as the story begans to grow.
