Authors, Writers, Publishers, and Book Readers

I’ve wanted to be a published author since I was a little girl. Like most girls my age, I read every Judy Bolton and Nancy Drew mystery; they were among my most prized possessions. When I was ten years old, I submitted a poem I’d written to my Sunday school magazine. I can still remember how thrilled I was when I saw my name printed under the title. My first byline! Now, many years later (no need to tell how many), I feel the same way!

My novel, Mixed Messages, the first in my Malone mystery series, will be released April 17th! When I received my author’s copy and held it in my hands, it was truly a dream come true! I felt like that ten-year-old girl again; it was magical and surreal. It still is. Here’s the blurb from the back of my book. I hope it will entice you to read Mixed Messages.

It is estimated there are at least twenty to thirty active serial killers in the United States at any given time. There’s one on the loose on the west side of Cincinnati.

It’s the week of Halloween and Ann Kern struggles with several issues. Her primary concern is her marriage which, like her west side neighborhood, is in jeopardy. Her husband is drinking heavily and his behavior toward her is erratic. One minute, he’s the kind, loving man she married and, the next minute, he’s cold and cruel.

Ann dismisses a psychic’s warning that she is in danger. But, when she receives a series of ominous biblical quotes, she grows nervous and suspicious of everyone, including her own husband.

As the bizarre and frightening events unfold, Ann discovers a handmade tombstone marked with her name, pushing her close to the edge. Will she be the Westwood Strangler’s next victim?

Mixed Messages will be available at amazon.com and postmortem-press.com on April 17th. If you’d like to pre order a copy, click on the link below.

Thanks for your kind words, Janice. Actually, of the two, Judy Bolton was my all time favorite but I loved Nancy Drew too!
