Authors, Writers, Publishers, and Book Readers
Have you seen the cover? Do you have kids? Have you ever watched kids? Have you had a bad day and have kids? Have you just had a bad day? Okay now I think you can understand the “surreal” nature of the cover and what the story in part is about. The best part of the whole thing though is what lies inside. April Pohren is starting to stretch her legs as an author and takes a crack at a different genre this time, moving away from her amazing debut: “Dream Me to Death”. This is definitely her shot at comedy/life type story and she gives us a glimpse into the life of a frazzled mother.
“Welcome to the Land of Insanity” is a quirky look at a piece of the character’s life: the choices, decisions and attitudes of one trying to cope. April Pohren has done a fine job of walking the line and making that experience jump off the page. Her depiction of life and its foibles is tangible and as a reader I got the sense she had been there done that type of thing. This was writing using research and observance, this was a lived experience and her impartment of it was fun and her viewpoint spot on. The download brought a few smirks to my face, made me laugh out loud a few times and overall brought me some joy as I looked back on some of my experiences, ahhh, memories.
Here is the fun and what is between the virtual covers:
“Parenthood is a blessing but can often send a person over the edge. Be honest, being a parent is not always sunshine and roses. Welcome to the Land of Insanity takes readers into a more humorous side of those crazy and out-of-control moments that all parents go through, in one form or another. Even if you are not a parent and need a good laugh, Welcome to the Land of Insanity is sure to bring a smile to your face and wash a bit of that crazy stress, caused by everyday insanity, away. “
