Authors, Writers, Publishers, and Book Readers
Hello again! Yes I am back from vacation and oh so happy to be back here in the blogosphere. Wait, no, retract that; I would prefer to be on the beach listening to the surf roll but since I am not independently wealthy yet, I need to get back in the saddle and back to work. Okay that cleared up, so there is no misunderstanding, and I am perfectly clear, let’s get ready to rumble. As a side note : yesterday was the first day back on the air with The G-ZONE, my blogtalk radio show, and my guests were Jeff Mudgett and James Rollins. Great show, check it out:

Today @ 4.30 pm EST my guest is Beth McMullen, author of “Original Sin”. I believe it is going to be fun.
Okay, let’s get serious and discuss one of my favorite characters Jonathan Quinn, here is the synopsis for the novella:
From winning author Brett Battles comes the new Jonathan Quinn thriller BECOMING QUINN.
Most careers begin with an interview and a handshake. Others require a little ... something more.
Meet Jake Oliver. The day will come when he's one of the best cleaners in the business, a man skilled at making bodies disappear.
At the moment, however, he's a twenty-two year old rookie cop, unaware his life is about to change.
In a burning barn a body is found-and the fire isn't the cause of death. The detectives working the case have a pretty good idea about what went down.
But Officer Oliver thinks it's something else entirely, and pursues a truth others would prefer remain hidden-others who will go to extreme lengths to keep him quiet.
Every identity has an origin. This is Quinn's.
BECOMING QUINN is a 57,000 word novella, and includes the bonus first chapter to WATCH ME DIE by Lee Goldberg.
First off understand I have been a longtime Cleaner fan, right from the beginning. That being said I love what Brett Battles has done here: he gives us the reader a piece of Quinn’s past, a part of what makes him, him. I love this, totally loved it. I got to read it on the beach on my Kindle which made the experience that much better. The changes that Brett Battles has made this year as an author have definitely made me happy. Instead of having to wait once a year or every eighteen months for a new piece of one of my favorite characters he is putting out incredible digital short stories and novellas to supplement his full length work. This is an amazing development, and one that allows us the reader to be a true winner in this new game of publishing.
I suggest you read something new, but step back to the past to do so. Who is Jonathan Quinn? What was he? What was he like before he became who we know him to be? This is a great first step in learning this guy’s backstory and one I suggest you make even if you have not had a read on this character. That is how strong this story is, how well written. Get hooked on the Cleaner; you won’t be left feeling dirty.
