Brain Files is my first attempt at fiction romance with suspense writing, so come along with me inside the mind of a woman I named Bridget Ann O'Flynn. New England born and raised in a working class factory family, people are attracted to her porcelain like features and loving personality. Everything is perfect, right? She always thought it was. Her dysfunctional parents raised her in a very strict Catholic setting under their thumbs.
Strict parents and disciplined nuns, she marries a man who calls the shots including who her friends are and when they'll start a family. Infidelity, infertility, unmet frustrated needs and the lengthy adoption process brings her to no self-worth. Finally she ends the marriage when her son goes into the military, and moves to sunny Florida to start a new life of freedom - she thought. Her first house is destroyed by a very unusual fire. The fire marshall couldn't figure why the entire house in such an unbelievable short time totally burned to the ground with her escaping. Sifting through the ash the only thing found was a silver tear drop shaped item which they thought could be from her fathers coin collection she had, but she knew it was something else. She moves to another area by a lake and starts a ritual every sunset of relaxing with a glass of wine. As the sun hits her skin, it ignites her "brain files" of former loves. Night after night this sensation erupts her senses and this presence is a voyeur into her mind. Her friends find her a psych-therapist, but is she legit and who presses her buttons? Everywhere she knows someone or thing is out there controling her life. She feels she's lost control of her mind. This therapist wants her to talk about each of these former loves in explicit form. Her voyeur is very happy with that decision. Week after week she regresses into these erotic or sad brain files and will slowly be lost in his grasp of satanic influence. What she goes through in the process with the help of her close friends is brave. What she gains in support and trust by her friends helps her separate what is real, molding her life into something she can salvage to finally complete herself. With a strong fever for love and life she responds to certain feelings and trusted persons brought in. - and the gift of a puppy. A certain deceased woman and child come to her, and open her to a new world waiting for her to believe in life and love again, but will it be too late before the power from hell strikes again and ruins for eternity her good brain files.
Stay tuned this fall for my second novel, "Hidden Poet." About a man who tries to attract a woman using poetry with a special code written to help her find him.
