"I read Dracula when I was only thirteen and at school. Since those days the paranormal genre has changed, and for the good. The twist and turns and the bringing of two different words together and the sharing of life between humans and vampires has brought good content to this type of story.

In the story by Laurie Bowler I read about the tribulations of a young mother off to carve out a new career and life for herself in Abu Dhabi. Do vampires exist out there ? Is it not sand , sun and camels? According to Laurie there is more out there than we know of and it's to do with one Serena Taylor. Sure that's the heroine, but she's different. The woman has an axe to grind; she hates her mother. Are we all like that? Thankfully not but to see what I mean watch sparks fly when Serena starts to look for a rich man to end her money problems. Mitch her step dad enters the gun sights of Serena and she strikes. What Serena does is foolish but she carries that grudge and she is a semi – dormant vampire. Now the action is cranked up another notch as suddenly she is detected by somebody who offers her help. Why does she scorn the help and then accept it. There's blood on her cheeks, down her dress and as I read it I felt the chase might start at any second. Laurie has written that kind of book, also it 's different. I'd loved to have found out more of the children of a vampire. Maybe later on I will in a back-story. Until then Serena has plenty of perils to avoid as things do more than simply hot up. Read this for the thrill/chill and a little romance or gold digging."
