Digital short Saturday Robert Ford Fall of Grace Trestle Press Submission Contest Winner

I wanted to lead the day off with this one and today is big, four posts on four very different digital short stories. Robert Ford, Cody Toye, Matt Williams & Diane Sherry Case each bring something to the table. I am going a different route today with the posts, short sweet and to the point. Remember when it comes to downloading these stories there are plenty of free applications to make it easy to read these stories on just about any e-reader: smartphone, laptop, home computer, tablet, Kindle, Nook, ipad…..I think you get the point. My point is that there are so many different ways to read these short stories passing them by makes no sense. They are a nice quick hit of fun that is great to read on break, the bus or train stop, waiting for the kids at school, just about anywhere. Now off to our story:

Trestle Press award winning author Robert Ford has created a new digital short story series that revolves around his World of Hek full length novels. Fall of Grace is a very wild and gut wrenching walk through a very imaginative new world. The story begins with an angel that has her wings torn off, laying in a heap bleeding.      Robert Ford has been writing fiction since elementary school.  What began as scribbles and comic books grew more detailed with each passing year.  In the early 1990’s, Robert produced a short lived comic book series called The World of Hek.  TWOH featured a changing cast of characters whose lives were forever altered after making seemingly innocent wishes.

     Robert continued his love of writing in 1991 with his unpublished screenplay The Ledge, a story dealing with adult depression.  The Ledge was translated into comic book form the following year.

     Neither titles provided much success and Robert tried again with 1995’s Christlike, a novel about a man who is thought to be the Second Coming of Christ.  Robert immediately set to work on The World of Hek, Book One: Forever in 1996.

     Writing took a back seat as Robert fell in love and started a family in 2000.  He also put himself back in college and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies in 2009.

    With The World of Hek, Book One: Forever and now, The World of Hek, Book Two: Savior also complete, Robert is working on the next installment of The World of Hek series, Ease the Pain and a comedy, The Curse of the Translucent Monster.  He is also working on an assortment of Hek short stories such as the just released Fall of Grace.

     Robert lives in SW Florida with his wife and two children and teaches at a local elementary school.
