Authors, Writers, Publishers, and Book Readers
Hello to you on this wonderfully rainy Tuesday. I know it may not be raining where you are, in whatever part of the world you are in, but here in Levittown, PA we are under a flood watch again. Why not enjoy another flood watch with a smile, and a good read? Not only am I posting on Chantal Boudreau’s digital short story today, I am also the lucky guy that gets to interview her later today,7pm EST, on my blogtalk radio show, The G-ZONE. As I have just mentioned the show, here are the rest of the guests this week:
Jeanette Windle, Sylvia Massara, and Rick R.Reed : http://www.blogtalkradio.com/gelatisscoop
Now back to today’s featured story. I am going to do things backwards today, first up, a little something about the author:
“Chantal Boudreau is an accountant/author/illustrator who lives by the ocean in beautiful Nova Scotia, Canada with her husband and two children. She writes and illustrates predominantly horror, dark fantasy and fantasy. Chantal is a member of the Horror Writers' Association, and has written more than 20 short stories and 13 novels. With Trestle Press she has also written “Ghost in The Mirror.”
Here is a little something on the story:
“Chantal Boudreau has crafted a story that is engaging, fun and just right to get you in that summer frame of mind. Why not go on vacation and be entertained by a unicorn, a dragon and a whole slew of characters everyday as they duel up on the mountain top just for you. “
The thing that has struck me about Chantal Boudreau’s writing is not just the consistent quality, but the multi-layered plotline even in the digital short form. She is able to not just create a new and exciting universe in which her characters inhabit but she is able to feed me as a reader, to give my mind something to ponder after the read. I guess what I am trying to say is that she likes to say something in her story, her narrative, that sticks with me well after I put my ereader down. That I like, especially in this day and age of disposableness. I always feel after I read her work that I got much more than the $.99 I spent on the download. If you haven’t had a chance to read her other Trestle Press digital short story, please do so: “The Ghost in The Mirror”, it is a very touching tale. Here are the links:
