Laurie Bowler The Depths of Darkness

Vampires anyone? Laurie Bowler has taken the genre to a whole new level with her body of work. She is definitely a busy gal with her newest full length novel, The Depths of Darkness. She also has her new series Across the City which has three installments in publication already: The Beginning, The Battle Begins, and Carnage with a fourth on the way, The Alliance. One thing I found out about this type of writing: the paranormal, vampire type thing, is that there are no rules, everything goes and what we are pretty much left with is the imagination of the author to create these new worlds, beings and character traits. Laurie Bowlers is quite fertile. The world she creates for us in Darkness is a place that is eerie, dark and inhabited by some pretty interesting creatures or beings. Take your choice as to what you may call them; I am going with creatures. If it walks and talks like a creature, can rip my neck out, and dismember me, then it is a creature. The quality of the read is apparent right from the get go, and the journey into Bowler’s new found world is swift and wrought with action, suspense and drama.
