Authors, Writers, Publishers, and Book Readers

I am finding by writing this book there is a character that keeps moving into the lead. I know he will be gone in the beginning about 8 chapters and others will take his place.

What I want to know have you changed your main characters as the story begans to grow.

I find I tire of the predictability of my main characters and either they meet a tragic end, get overpowered by a minor character or find a way to have them gracefully fall from the story. As a reader as well as a writer I find that if you do it right, it adds a much needed twist to a story that could have been too ordinary without it. If it feels right to you... do it. It's your adventure, you can tell it any way you want to.
