shadow's heart at stone-chapter 2

chapter 2.

the water was now freezing, so shadow climbed out. damn, another school day missed!!

it was now night time and the air was chilly. im freezing my ass off! damn human skin!!

he pulled on his clothes and shoes and walked through the woods toward home. he wondered what time it was......and if mom was up.

i hate this s***!!

he hated not knowing what he was.....

he hated knowing that he surely was not human.....

he hated that his mother knew what he was and refused to tell him.....

he wanted to kill her, but couldn't even stand the thought of a simply strangle.

and joanie?

what will he do with her??

kill her too??

"Damn this world....what the hell am i??"

he never burned so much to just know one thing.........

he walked through the door of the kitchen and found his mother still sitting at the kitchen table. only she had a phone in her hand, hanging up.

"That was the school.....said you weren't there."

"i wasn't."

"why not, where have you been??"

"I dont know."

he tried to walk away, but stopped when she said-

"Shevus Jones, dont you try and pull a fast one on me!"

he turned and looked at her, his eyes turning black.....his skin was starting to glow again, this time, a dim gold.

she stood, nearly knocking her chair back.

"Im sorry shadow.....its just you had me so worried-"

"Worried!! im the one that should worry! you think i want anybody to see me like this?? what if joanie sees me, dont you think she'll run away??.......like dad did??"

this stung her badly, she didn't know what to say...

he ran to his room and slamed the door and calmed himself to his normal color.

a peice of writing on his wall caught his eye.

Love the ones that trys to love you/you are different, but you are still beautiful.
