Hey all! I've been away for some time, but I have something new to contribute.
As a new year starts to progress at pace, I want to make a few things clear to the aspiring writer.
First of all, DO NOT EBOOK! It is a quick trip to being ripped off.
Secondarily, find an agent. Learn how to write query letters for your "baby" manuscript.
Thirdly, be persistent. Don't be afraid and get used to rejection slips.
The most modest of ways, these days, is to proactively try to coax an agent into believing in you and then from there move along smartly. The agent will take care of an editor and ultimately, hoo-rah, a publisher. Trust no one who wants cash from you up-front. They make the money off of your residuals.
In the end, you have to be very assertive and very proactive in the sales of your work. You have to nearly be the proverbial guy/gal with the sign on your back walking the street selling your manuscript, vice hot dogs.
As always,
My best,
M
