He's so right! How can you expect to be a good writer if you don't make time to read? That's crazy. It's all about honing your craft.

yes, i totally agree, the thing is though, i am a poet and i started writing when i was in the first or second grade and now i am in fifth. I don't read much anymore, but when i do read, it really inspires me in an unbelievable way.
