A father's love is sweet
A father's love is pure
A father's love is so important
When he gives it, we want more
From ages one ninty-nine
We'll always appreciate it
And since we love it so much
It will never be outdated

Callie, that is so sweet! Thank you for sharing that. If you're up for it, there's publishers out there that look for short poetry for small gift type themed books. You know the kind you see that are small, square books on a carousel in bookstores? Next time you're there, look at the back of ones you like that you think your poetry would suit too and see who publishes it. Usually the website address is there too. Note that down and check online for submission guidelines.

I agree! This would be well suited for those kinds of products. You do have a small typo where you said ninty instead of ninety. The only reason I mention it is because typos in submissions can count against you.

Can I really protect you
In this world that I brought you in
There's filth everywhere
and disappointment at every bend
You are the only good thing your mother left me
but I still carry the heavy burden of this ring
I know you won't understand now
because you are my angel for now
and I worry for the future
because I don't know if I'll always be around
and tell you what is right or wrong
But I want to hold you close and try to keep you safe
thats all I can do for now
So turn around for Daddy
I don't want you to see
the ugliness of this place
