Authors.com

Authors, Writers, Publishers, and Book Readers

I was thinking today about how big the internet is and the vastness of its reach. And then I pondered on how we all find our little corners of happiness on the web. Authors.com is definitely one of mine! So tell me, how did you get here initially and discover our fab community? :D

Hey Kay!  Thanks for your warm welcome!

I found Authors.com by doing an "author resources" search on Yahoo!.  I am a first-time author and thought it would be really nice to have some contact with other authors, both new and veteran...Authors.com seemed like a friendly place, so I joined.  I'm glad I did.

I was on google looking for publishers and agents and sort of stumbled on to this.  I knew I was unpublished and really need to find someone with more insight to assit me in reaching my goals to publish my collection of short stories and the romance novel I am working on.

Hi Bruce, the community here is full of advice so you'll fit in well. All the best and keep writing!

You have some of the same thought I have.  I sort of stumbled into the site while searching for assistance in getting my book published.  As i am sure everyine here is aware it is not easy to avoid getting caught in traps like PublishAmerica.  Now I find myself in the company of like minded souls and hope to learn and grown as a person.

Welcome and hang in there. We're all in this together.

Hi! Glad to see the group growing.  I hope we can all grow in our quesst to become better writers.

Thanks for having me on Kay, and for your warm welcome...

I was researching the works of different Authors and happen to run into this site. I decided to sign up. I do love the Graphics on the page, it seems quite pleasing and inviting. Now I am finding the Authors are quite warm and inviting and it's great to be associated with people that speaks your language...

Good to see more good people signing up

Hello. I appreciate the welcome. I think I was following up on some promotional work my publisher had completed and found Authors.com in a search. It looks like a good place to meet and share experiences and gain insight. I look forward to it.

I found Authors.com via one of your other members, Steve Norris. He and Catherine have been posting/tweeting about you for sometime so I came and investigated. It is a great site, so many lovely supportive people. Just what authors need, a support network of like minded friends.

Hi, thanks for the welcome.

To be frank I can't remember how I got here (ignoring all the tired old jokes about mums/dads and burds/bees). I have been writing stage plays in my own name and novels (under a few noms de plume) for 20 years or so, and have always been into technology since I was a computer designer in a former life. I have used the Internet for many many years and always keep an eye on what's going on and new opportunities, so I guess something I searched for popped up with authors.com. My most frequent searches are for theatre companies (my database now has over 12,00 email addresses) so that's the most likely. Sorry I can't be more precise.

I found my way here through Amazon forum. Someone just mentioned it and I decided to try it out. I must say, it is a wonderful community. keep up the good work.
