Authors, Writers, Publishers, and Book Readers

Noticed a couple of authors posted links elsewhere, so here I am. Fab site! :-)
I've been writing since I was 15. I actually have a novel that has been in the editing stage for about 10 years now. I'm just about ready to send it to a publisher. . . although, I've never done this before and I'm not interested in self-publishing. I also am editing several novels for a few friends who are interested in publishing. I happened upon this site from a seacrch for author and publishing support.

Welcome to Authors, we have quite a spread of different authors here so I hope you find what you are looking for. Its a great support system when you need it.
Good luck

Kay,
Thanks for the warm welcome! To be honest, I'm not quite sure how I found my way here. Most probably, from reading an article on someone's site. All I know is that I'm glad to be here!
Hello everyone. I'm afraid I can't remember how I found Authors.com but it may have been a link from Lori Moore. I arrived in November when I was first looking to self-publish on Kindle, and after a Writers & Artists conference in London (so that might also have provided the idea).
On 18th Nov I had a bit of a trauma and I've found before that these things can drive from your mind what you were doing in the days immediately before. But I'm back now, having published two ebooks, the first two of the Princelings of the East trilogy, and I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone better.
It's such hard work promoting the books though!
Hi, I was trying to locate a book that was written by a cousin of mine on my Mom's side that had been written early 1900's. I just typed Authors and the search engines took over
I was invited by an author, Rhonda L. Print! I am an avid reader of paranormal, suspense romance, contemporary romance, and romance with humor. Looks like a great site that I will enjoy browsing through!

I agree I also love anything dealing with the Paranormal. I came across this site while searching a family member who is a Author from the late 1800's to early 1900's and I did get help from a gentleman . I do a little writing maybe someday I'll put them all together. I do enjoy this site, and there are many interesting people and I enjoy meeting new people

I was linked here by a facebook friend.
I have been looking different author communities to get some feedback about my articles, personally I think they are loaded full of facts and some times personal perspective but also a bit too boring.
Thanks for asking Kay. I self-published my novel ten months ago, using Create Space and recently on Kindle. But I have yet to get even one review on Amazon.com. So I did a Google search on "free book reviews" and this was one of the sites that came up. Like most sites you have to join first to find out how to get a "free review". Although I don't seem to have found that here, I've already met a few friends! I did find another free site called, "greatmindsthinkaloud", and they are going to review my novel, "Gateway of the Sun", and it is free. I've already sent them an electronic copy of my novel, and so it didn't even cost me giving away a printed copy and the postage. That site is going to post their review on Amazon and five other sites, so I'm pleased about that. I haven't discovered how to do that here yet. I'm still exploring my way around here yet. However I am thrilled to have found an easy way to communicate with other authors who have been through more of the "process" of self-publishing, and marketing. As a creative individual, "marketing" is not something in my skill set, which is as I found, "normal", LOL.
I'm not sure how I found my way to authors.com. I do so much research. I probably found the link at Facebook. I will post some of my work when I have time. I'm currently busy with book promotion and signings. Glad to be here!
