Authors, Writers, Publishers, and Book Readers
I only have one book with CreateSpace and they did a very good job on the cover art. The over all cost was low and the per copyu cost is very low. I can afford to sell my bood for as low as $5.00 and still make some moeny.
Did they do you're cover art for you? If so, was it costly?

my book has been out for nearly a month, on kindle.com, and for two weeks as a paperback. aside for friends and relatives buying it, I have seen no action to speak of...it is completely up to the author to promote his/her book. My only problem is that several local bookstores are boycotting Amazon and anything produced by them including create space because the tend to "overreach". I am handling my own promotion, and slowly making progress.
In regard to covers, I did my own, but then I am a professional artist and have been for many years. There was a bit of back and forth as they attempted to comprehend just where I was going, but I believe it came out all right. I am following the same format for my second, third and fourth books which are part of a trilogy with a sequel. Basically, everyone loves the quality of the cover. Lynne
Also.... I don't know how many pages you have, but my book, the one that is out, has 500. My cost per book is %6.95, i imagine less for bulk. It is listed at $14.99, but I can sell it for less, although definitely not for $5.

My book is a simple collection of short stories and only 133 pages. I can buy them from Createspace for $3.10 including shipping so i can make money even if I sell them for $5.00 It is listed for $9.99.
Not sure if everyone is aware but there is a Createspace site on Facebook where authors assist each other in boosting sales. I've been part of it for a bit but currently my book is not published so I'm not sure if the strategies are working but all of the authors seem really keen to do what they can to help each other.
Has worked well for me, Cindy. http://cindytroy.com
I'm working on my first book, and I've been very happy with CS. Just remember that if you have any changes to the proof after the first 80, it'll cost you 50 bucks. I've gone through a number of rounds because my ms wasn't as polished as it should be (I learned a lot of stuff after I entered the process). Anyway, they are quite responsive to your questions and all that.
I recently published my 1st book on CS and I'm happy with them so far. I do agree that u have to promote yourself and I'm still learning that part of it. I have it in one public library and working on more. If anyone one knows of any other ways to get it out there please let me know. Thanks
I have published two books with Create Space in the same number of years. My dealings with them have been exceptional. And since you are a self publisher by doing so, it is up to you to market your book and get the word out.
That being said; it is probably the most economical solution to getting your book out there when you can't get a traditional publisher to do it for you.
Have a look in the Groups section for help on promotions, marketing and social networking zabrina. Good luck!
