Authors, Writers, Publishers, and Book Readers

what are the key elemens to writing a book and publishing it?

I for one think that a great book must have pure imagination, and to have the heart for it, if you write under pressure, the book will not turn out the best it can, the best way to write a book is to write when you wan to and how you want to. I have a very shady idea of how you publish a book, I need you guys to help me!!!!! please help!!!!!!!

I think the thing that must be kept in mind is that writing is an artistic endeavor, but publishing is a business. A writer must rely upon their muse to create content, but a publisher that strops treating their business like a business will not be in the publishing business for long. If that means that a publisher must be strict in enforcing its contracts and deadlines, then so be it. If a writer wants to write for the sake of writing, that's their prerogative; but a writer that wants to be published must be mindful of the demands of the publishing business that every publisher must operate under.
When starting my book, I had an idea; however, the book had its own path. I wasn't even out of the first chapter and the story took over. I agree, writing under pressure is difficult. But when the story calls, it doesn't matter what I want, it's time to write. Sometimes it calls in the wee hours of dawn, other times, late at night and even while I'm working on my day job, which is at night. When this happens, I write on whatever I can get my hands on then edit later. And if a publisher is interested, Well! You talk about pressure. (Set time). If you are a poet, purchase a Poet's market. If you write noval, a Writer's Market and so on...You will do just fine.
