writing a medieval book

So, I'm writing my first book, and it's set in medieval time. I have it all written, and now I'm typing it up. It's not fantasy, so no magic, but I need help with my fight scenes. I don't really know any sword fighting terms, and I can't find a good website. Also, where did people carry their bow when on a journey? I know the arrows are in a quiver, but does the bow go in there too? If any one knows a good website, book or has any tips, I would appreciate it.

Here, I don't know any for combat terminology though outside of this wikipedia page. Fencing is the general term for any kind of swordplay, but try not to use too many of the words when describing things. And on bows, not everyone used one but bows were generally held, or hooked onto the quiver itself.

I would like to note though, swords are a very cliche weapon. I'd suggest making your characters stand out with things like spears, halberds, and maybe something more exotic or unusual. Just try to avoid anachronisms as much as possible.

Thank you for the links. they were very helpful as was the tip about using more unusual weapons. I've taken a short break from working on this book, and started another. This new one is just a pet project for when i get writer's block on the other, but your tip about weapons really helped me develop one of my character's personality. She definately has a unique weapon that's also half puzzle which suits her inquisitive nature.
