Authors, Writers, Publishers, and Book Readers

I can't believe it! I finally finished my first book! It's so exciting. I mean, I've always wanted to be an author, but I never felt like one. Now that I've finished a book, I really consider myself an author. I have a sense of acomplishment. I've always felt a need to do something important in my life, and now it's like that feeling is gone. If I know anything about phycology, it's gone because I just did. I posted the book on here if anyone wants to read it. If you any suggestions, let me know. And if anyone can tell me anything about how to make a cover, I'm all ears. I trust this website, and anything you guys have to say!

Congratulations!
It must have been a hard road!
=D
I'm working in a book too, but...procrastination really hits me hard sometimes! =/
Nice Job!
I'm also writing another one that I've been working on for about a little over two months, but I can't seem to get the plot on that one right.

Well!
I just finished reading it!
I would like to comment on it, but if anyone else hasn't read it...then i don't want to ruin it!
I shall add you as a friend, so i can message you privately!
=D
Flushed with your first completion. . .congratulations, my dear! Now get thee to an agent and make thy dreams come true!
I remember when I broke my first two hundred page marker, many moons ago; then I was on to three hundred and so on, in the words of the immortal Kurt Vonnegut.
Be good, clever and kind. Best to you.

Oh my god, congratulations! I'm in the middle of writing a book, but the storyline keeps going off track, I think. And aww, you truly trust us? XD
Hey, Jasmine!
There is no such thing as a storyline that goes off track. There is only a writer who goes off track. If you keep writing, you will find that such seemingly daunting things as plot and character development tend to create themselves.
I am not being facetious here, either. When your imaginary folks start actually talking to you and telling you how to drive the ship, you will suddenly find yourself having become a true writer of fiction. At least that seems to me the way it works.
When I finished my first story, my characters were the ones that said "Back off! We're done with you now, you silly writer guy."

I wish you the best of luck.

Yeah, I do! I know everyone here is trustworthy and kind.

I'm downloading your Story now, Callie. As soon as I get around to reading it I'll let you know my thoughts!
That's fantastic, Callie. Congratulations on accomplishing that. :)

Do you have a graphics program you can use to make your cover? There's a program called Gimp you can use to make a 3D Ebook cover if that's the kind of thing you're thinking on. It's free to download. I tried Gimp before and thought it was a little complicated. You're a lot younger than me so you'll probably do a better job grasping it. :)

I've added a video that gives instructions how to make it.

I'll let you know when I've read it too. I'm dying of the flu right now and have our early Thanksgiving dinner to face tomorrow. It will be a little while before I get to it but I shall. :)
I have a slightly different take on that. Sometimes the storyline going off track can be the best thing that happens to it, Jasmine. Think of it as a diversion you need to look at - why is it happening? Could also be that your story needs to go another route from what you first envisaged to make it even better. Being flexible and open to newness while you're writing is important. :)

First off, let me say I hate huge font, lol. I had to change it to what I write in before I could even start reading it, lol. However, I'm quite intrigued by the first page. They say the first page/paragraph is one of the most important parts of the Book; it helps readers decide if they want to finish reading it or not, but I'm sure you already knew that. =D. You've got me hooked.
I have to agree with Mark Santomieri, with what he said in Kay's "Who Inspires You" thread about some editing. There's a few words here and there like now and know that you've used the wrong one as well as using the wrong course, but I haven't seen anything else. I'm very curious though if they're actually Vampires or not. I can also relate to Casandra in the sense that she believes in these mythical creatures, but at the same time believes Science Fact can prove everything.
I really like the font you used for the book Casandra reads in Chapter 8, what Font Style is it? I also like the names you've given the flowers.
Seriously! You ended it like that!? God I hate cliff hangers! Good work though; I really enjoyed it. Got me thinking about what I want to do in my next Vampire-ish novel.

Also, I wrote this while I was reading it, so if excuse the random order I put things in.
Hey there!

I Just did my third re-read of The Vampire's Girlfriend and I found myself more deeply interested than originally. As I had posted before, there are some technical issues that need to be proofed out, but I'm loving the story. Your voice is solid and the tale is deeper than I had previously absorbed.
Keep up the good work. If you would like technical assistance, just let me know. I am considered to be a pretty good proof reader and editor.
I highly suggest that, after some work, you try to find an agent. I can make suggestions in that direction, as well.
Best,
M.
