Sorry, I never heard of them.
Are they the same ones that have been battling a court case with PublishAmerica right now? See this thread for details of the original claim and counterclaim. It's been followed in the Bewares and Background checks folder all about PublishAmerica. I don't know anything about LS myself, just saw this thread. I don't have any more details.

What I usually do is look to better buisness bueral for their state and see what grade their given. I know Lulu.com had an A plus which is why I chose them. So you could check lightning source through them. Garry E. Lewis
I've never used lightning Source, but have heard good things about them. They work closely with Amazon and will get your book listed with ingram (they are owned by Ingram). LS offers both wholesale and direct distribution in the US, the UK and Canada. Word is they're pretty user friendly too.
All sales of my self-help book from Barnes & Noble, Amazon.com, and others have come from Lightning Source.
Thanks>
I've heard only positive comments about Lightening Source.  Nothing negative to date.

LSI is a very common printer/distributor for self-publishing companies. Our print book is printed / distributed through Lightning Source, and our publisher has a long-term business relationship with them. I've been pleased. Overall, simple processes, decent client support, timely delivery.

I cannot recommend CreateSpace or Lulu if you have any hopes of seeing your books on book store shelves. They get the job done, but they're just printers and rightfully carry the label of vanity presses.

Okay to all of this but ... how do you get out of a 7 year contract with PA and retain all the rights to your book ... cover ... copyright ... etc. ... the whole gambit?  Is that possible?  I have 3 books published with them right now and a 4th book w/cover ready to go to a publisher.  My first and third book are sequels and I am working on another sequel to be published this year (?) or next.
