Since an early age I loved to read mangas graphic novels comics and what not! When I got to middle school I meet two people who would be in my life for a long time and enjoyed the same things, you see they were both great artist, waaay better then I am, which brought my confidence in my drawing a little down but they taught me anything I wanted if I asked. The one thing I was slightly better at then they were was writing! We started making our own little aliases for the stories wrote backgrounds character designs potential lovers and I would write out our own world! We had powers, we had riches we acted out frustrations we had with people (no bashings)and even amongst ourselves. I would write what I could and they would give me ideas or what they wanted to happen and I'd do it!! It was awesome!! I was on a roll writing 5-10 pages a class period if I was really inspired and hid my papers from the teachers pretending to do my work! Haha!

Then one weeked the girl would be my best friend forever, because at that time her cousin was my best friend, asked if she could take our story home so she could try to give me ideas, and I was all for it! The Monday morning we came back she gave me the folder it was held in with a wickedly big smile across her face. I was all excited thinking she gave me like a huge pile of ideas or something because the folder was thicker than when I had given it to her. I open it and there staring back at me was our characters, and the pages following was the story drawn out! I was so wide eyed and amazed just so overwhelmed on how awesome it looked I just yayed and hugged the hell out of her!!

Since then we've been trying to write and finish a story good enough to draw out and maybe be published by a big manga or comic publisher, because that girl draw everything realistic, anime, shoujo, comic, everything!! We've just failed at writing something to our likings, or actually finishing it!! Haha we both have that problem!!

So my question is: Have you ever considered getting your stories drawn out? Besides children's books ,because obviously they require some kind of drawings. So?

First, I totally agree! I love manga and all the stuff like that!

Second, I occaisonally have, but the stories I write sometimes just don't seem fit for that many drawings, despite the fact it would make them ten times cooler!

When I was three I lost my teddy bear and my Mother drew out a story of him going off to help Santa at Christmas time. The teddy bear returned on Christmas day along with the picture story and it was one of my best Christmases of my childhood.

My daughter, Elannah, used to draw all the time and loved to create pictures for the books, but is more into full on dancing and drama these days.

My cover artist for the first two books was Victor Guiza who is pretty amazing, having won the Dragon Pen award for illustrators and he did the Little Mermaid fo Disney. I wish I could draw, but I know my strengths lie in other directions ...

Awww that was very sweet of your mother to do!! I would do that for my child if ever decide to have any!!
When I see kids drawing I get so hopeful! Like I get overwhelmed with pride and they're not even related to me they'll be kids I babysit or friends babies. Is that weird? That's awesome that your daughter is doing another form of art.

My Daughter is inspired by the stories we write and has a website with some of her work.

Here's the link, http://elannahsdrawings.blogspot.com/

She has just recently strarted to draw again, for the third and fourth adventures, The Salty Seadog's Tale and The Halloween Secret. Fips, of course, is the Salty Seadog.

Enjoy.

So where's the illustrations Vivi? Share at least one with us, girl! :) The only thing I have I would love drawn out is Hannah and her Heart, but that's a kids story so that doesn't answer your question. :)

Mmmkay I think I can do that!! Lemme try!!

This is a concept look of our characters:

She can do better, this was a rushed painting.
