Toy Soldier
Written by Kenny Thurman
He walked in the street,
He didn’t worry about being beat,
Don’t worry, he’s tough meat,
He sat down on the seat,
I looked at his putrid feet,
That I knew they were off the street,
He singed in Bera Hing,
I saw his ring,
He wasn’t married,
I thought he was gonna sing,
He let off a smell,
And I suddenly fell,
And my head was like a bell,
I was thought I was gonna sell,
I looked at the rules,
And they were very cruel,
Toy Soldiers weren’t allowed in school,
I thought that he was a ghoul,
I blinked my eyes,
And thought bye bye,
And then I saw that he was shy,
Not from Sci-Fi,
I looked at him and I said, “Man, you got Wi-Fi,
I looked at him with a big long sigh,
And I suddenly said bye man,
I’m banned,
T-Wang out.

Angel Poop
Written by Kenny Thurman
Angel poop flies through the air
From over here to over there
I see it scattered in your hair
When I found out it was a bear
Sing’n at the fair
I screamed and let out a blare
When I looked at it and said, “It was just plain rare
For a bear.”
I glared and I stared
More angel poop went flying through the air
I let out a scream when it got in my hair
And I again saw the bear
It is just plain rare isn’t
I looked back at the fair
It was a delusion of me being spared
This poem makes no sense at all
When I started to ball
I crawled and hauled
When snow started to glow and I said, “Pretty angel poop.”

Okay, Kenny!
Angel Poop!?
What a wild analogy for what I've been shoveling for the last week! I will treat it with more kindness the next time I have to dig out.
If you would give me permission, I would like to include that poem in my Big Blue Ball anthology. It fits in well with the many other poems I have been persuing that describe how folks think about our big blue world and its many wonders.
Let me know if you are keen to do so. There is no copywrite issue; the poem is yours and will remain such if the anthology goes to publication.
Just give me a personal email and I will explain further. I can be mailed at madmarco62@comcast.net.
I hope to hear/read more of your work. I would also like to have some discussion with you about "brass tacks", such a rhythm and rhyme and cadence and punctuation. I think I could be of some assistance to you and your future work.
My Best,
M.

Okay, So I have written something very different for me... and I felt like this was a safe place to air it... please guys tell me what you think?

It seems strange to think that I won’t see you again.
I try to convince myself that you’ve gone forever, but my mind knows you’re not dead, it tells my heart not to mourn. I despise that vindictive part of my mind that suggests all of this would be easier if you were dead.
I demand my mind to take it back! I try to find a way to punish it.
Always a step ahead it flashes images of you in front of my eyes, “Stop it! Stop it!”
I feel my mind unwinding as I fight to crawl out of it, so ashamed of the images it is conjuring; I have to separate myself from the things it is persuading my heart to feel.
This is your fault – my mind does have a point… my heart is breaking; it is mourning your death, while you are living life to the full!
I pray for an unheard of type of amnesia to kick in – allow me to erase everything you touched.
As that thought leaks through my heart begins to panic, the place where you dwelled for so long, now fears its own demise, it begins a debate with my mind. “Isn’t it better to have loved and lost than to never love at all?” My heart pleads with my mind; then silence… my mind has made itself up.

(Before you ask, I am semi-normal I don't know where this came from... it just popped into my head hehe)

Hard Times

In sickness and in health
Forgive and forget
Love prevails
Sacred love
Undeniable
Unbelievable at times
But only destiny dictates
The truth of the matter
Care and concern and that which is just
And to know when to say
Enough is enough
And say
Simply
I love you.

When words escape me
I escape into words.
Their power is fantasy
Not always reality.

But words are the tools
With which we are bound
And thus
We speak.
And so it is certain
That reality and fantasy are
One and the same
In a sense,
And how we direct our ideas
Creates our destinies.
